Tirzepatide Prefilled Multidose Pen
Patient Information Leaflet
Please read this leaflet carefully before using your Tirzepatide pen and keep it for future reference. Consult your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse if you have any questions.
What is Tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide is a prescription medicine used to help adults manage type 2 diabetes and support weight loss in those with obesity or overweight conditions when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection using this prefilled multidose pen.
What GLP is it?
Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It mimics the actions of these natural hormones to regulate blood sugar by boosting insulin release after meals, reducing glucagon levels, slowing digestion, and promoting a feeling of fullness, which can aid in weight management.
Is it Anabolic?
Tirzepatide is not an anabolic steroid and does not directly build muscle mass. Instead, it works metabolically by enhancing insulin sensitivity, reducing appetite, and supporting weight loss, which may indirectly improve body composition when paired with exercise and proper nutrition.
Active Ingredient

Benefits
- Improves blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
- Supports weight loss and weight maintenance in adults with obesity or overweight conditions related to health issues.
- Convenient once-weekly dosing with a prefilled pen.
Instructions for Use
Follow these steps to use your Tirzepatide prefilled multidose pen safely and effectively. Always wash your hands before starting.
- Prepare Your Pen
- Check the pen label to ensure it’s the correct medicine and not expired.
- Inspect the Tirzepatide medicine through the pen window. It should be clear and colorless. Do not use if it’s cloudy, discolored, or contains particles.
- Remove the pen cap.
- Attach the Needle (6 Needles Supplied)
- Tear off the paper tab from a new needle.
- Push the needle straight onto the pen and turn it clockwise until it’s tight.
- Pull off the outer needle cap and then the inner needle cap, keeping the needle sterile.
- Check the Tirzepatide Flow with Each New Pen
- Turn the dose selector to 1 click.
- Hold the pen with the needle pointing up and gently press the dose button until a drop of liquid appears at the needle tip. This ensures the pen is working. If no liquid appears, repeat up to 3 times. If it still doesn’t work, use a new pen.
- Select Your Clicks
- The pen delivers up to 60 clicks per injection (7.5 mg max per dose). For higher doses, split the injection into two parts (e.g., half now, half immediately after in a different site).
- Turn the dose selector to the number of clicks prescribed:
- Week 1: 20 clicks (2.5 mg)
- Week 2: 20 clicks (2.5 mg)
- Week 3: 40 clicks (5 mg)
- Week 4: 40 clicks (5 mg)
- Week 5: 60 clicks (7.5 mg)
- Week 6: 60 clicks (7.5 mg)
Injecting Your Dose
- Choose an injection site: abdomen (at least 2 inches from the navel), thigh, or upper arm. Rotate sites weekly.
- Clean the site with an alcohol wipe and let it dry.
- Insert the needle into your skin at a 90-degree angle.
- Press and hold down the dose button until the dose counter reaches 0.
- Slowly count to 6 while holding the button to ensure the full dose is delivered.
- Remove the needle from your skin.
- After Your Injection
- Carefully pull the needle off the pen and place it in a sharps container.
- Replace the pen cap on the pen.
- Store the pen in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) between uses, but do not freeze. If needed, it can be kept at room temperature (up to 30°C) for up to 21 days.
- Warnings
- Do not use if: You or a family member have had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), or if you’re allergic to tirzepatide or any ingredients.

- Other risks: May cause pancreatitis, low blood sugar (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney problems, or severe stomach issues. Contact your doctor if you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or unusual symptoms.
